About NCServes

NC Serves is a state-wide initiative, part of the AmericaServes effort housed in Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), aims to better address the needs of service members, veterans, and their families through streamlined access to high quality providers on a coordinated basis.

Following a very competitive RFP process, the IVMF awarded the United Service Organizations of North Carolina (USO-NC) a $450,000, multi-year grant to serve as the NCServes – Raleigh/Durham’s underpinning coordinating entity. As the Raleigh/Durham Coordination Center, the USO-NC will work in partnership with the state, area military bases, NC National Guard, Veterans Affairs (VA), and over 50 public and nonprofit service providers throughout the region to continuously improve the quality, efficiency and accountability of veteran programs and services.

NCServes Raleigh/Durham is the second location in a strategic roll-out across the state that started with NCServes Metrolina (Charlotte area). This second lauch will be followed with strategy development initiatives for two additional regions in North Carolina.

NCServes has been endorsed by Governor McCrory and contains dozens of impactful public, private and nonprofit partners in and around the Raleigh Durham area.

“The USO of North Carolina has been a proud supporter of the AmericaServes movement into North Carolina and it is an honor to be selected by our community to serve as the Coordination Center for the Raleigh-Durham market,” said John Falkenbury, President, USO of North Carolina. “For 75 years, the USO of NC has accomplished its mission of keeping America’s service members connected to family, home, and country, throughout their service to the nation by delivering innovative programs, morale-boosting services and leveraging key partnerships in the community. Serving as the Coordination Center for our community will allow us to further that mission by providing a seamless service provider network across Raleigh-Durham that is integrated with our partners in Charlotte and eventually statewide.”
